Back in the midwest after a whirlwind weekend. The conference was great. Marion Dane Bauer (Runt, On My Honor) was the author who spoke and she was awesome!!! A few comments from her helped me fix my ending. She had a lot of great advice about crafting the story- very helpful as I am still in the planning stage for my next MS. There was an agent and a editor (Alfred Knopf) there as well. The agent has requested the full MS for BUMP- I was thrilled. Now I just have to get it in shape to send out (yikes!). He gave me a written critique with very positive comments. Encouraged...

- Ah, I am overwhelmed.... Trying to get the kids settled back into school. My littlest has some learning disabilities and we have been trying to get him the extra help he needs for the school year. I leave tomorrow for my weekend at the Pacific Coast Children's Writers' Workshop and hope that it will get me back on track. Between getting ready for the workshop (we had 10 critiques to do) and my other things, I have had very little time to actually write. Hoping to get on track this weekend to get BUMP polished up and sent out again.
